It is sure to be a fun-filled week with castles, dragons, princesses, and so much more. Don’t miss this royally good time!

  • Church Motto

    First......that all may know Jesus.

This is the motto of First Baptist Dayton, TN

    taken from 1 Timothy 2:3-5.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,"

  • From the Pastor:

    FBC Dayton Family!

When we think of summer, we often think of all the recreation that happens. From trips to the beach to picnics, from fishing outings at the lake to those camping trips at the campgrounds, most families make plans for summer.

I encourage families to spend time together, but never at the expense of spending time with the Lord. Missing church should always be the exception to our schedule, not the practice.

I am thankful that our Lord doesn’t take time off from us! Elijah accused the prophets of Baal of worshiping a god that must have been on vacation because Baal didn’t answer their prayers.

In contrast, our God doesn’t take time off! The Bible says in Psalm 121:4, “Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.”

We have an opportunity every day to teach our children and grandchildren to follow the Lord! The Bible tells the Jews (and we should follow this example) in Deuteronomy 6:4-7, “Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”

So take this summer as a time to grow in Jesus and also teach your families how to be more like our precious Jesus! When you take a vacation, be like Jesus and use the time away to draw closer to the Father!
