  • Church Motto

    First......that all may know Jesus.

This is the motto of First Baptist Dayton, TN

    taken from 1 Timothy 2:3-5.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,"

  • From the Pastor

Every day the anticipation of heaven gets stronger and sweeter as more and more of my brothers and sisters in Christ pass on to glory. Last week was one of those times when two beloved saints that I had served on staff with in the past, stepped into the glorious presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. Mrs. Barbara Seaborn, who served as the first full time secretary at First Baptist Church, Fairview and Dr. Max Gartman, who served as our Interim Minister of Music here at First Baptist Church, Dayton. These two dear saints have entered the eternal rest of their Lord and before too long we will join them in praising the Lord for all eternity! Hallelujah!

But until that day comes, I want to be serving God faithfully and telling the whole world about the love of God and the power of the Gospel to transform the souls of mankind. We are in a battle for the souls of men and women and the time is running out! Brothers and sisters, if you have loved ones that you know are not prepared for the coming of the Lord, quickly tell them that Jesus Christ is the only way to life everlasting. The only time we have is the present and the Scriptures clearly tell us that the day of salvation is today, now is the accepted time. Do not procrastinate or try to wait for a better time. Recognize the urgency of the hour and that all the signs indicate the coming of the Lord is sooner than most people think. There is nothing more important than knowing Christ as your Savior and Lord and knowing that your life is in His hands. Join me in sharing the gospel with everyone you know and pray that they will give their life to the Lord today!
