Mission Spotlight:

Tennessee Baptist Children's Homes

Thanks to you, Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes served 243 children and their families through residential and foster care in 2016. Since TBCH doesn’t accept government funding, we rely solely on the gracious gifts of caring friends and churches like yours. Thank you for participating in the Mother’s Day Offering.       In this, our 126th year, we are sensing the beginning of a significant amount of change and growth as we seek to help even more children in the years to come. With this opportunity comes a financial responsibility.

The Mother’s Day Offering provides 36% of our annual operating budget. The State-Wide Goal for 2017 is $2,500,000. We came close to meeting that goal last year and I know that if every church who supported us in the past were to increase their support by just 10%, we would surpass this challenging, yet reachable goal! I ask that you join us in praying for the children in our care and for God’s provision so that we might continue ministering to them.

In Mark 9:37, Jesus teaches us that “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.” Thank you for welcoming the Father into your life by helping us care for the children!

  • Church Motto

    First......that all may know Jesus.

This is the motto of First Baptist Dayton, TN

    taken from 1 Timothy 2:3-5.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,"

  • From the Pastor

People across America are full of fear and uncertainty; our communities are hurting. How can we solve the deep racial, political, and cultural divisions in our nation? Is there any hope for change?

Only Jesus Christ can offer the spiritual transformation that America needs. Franklin Graham is coming to Chattanooga, May 15, 2017, 7:30 PM at Coolidge Park on what he is calling the Decision America Tennessee Tour. He will be calling God’s people to prayer and inviting the lost to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. Will you pray for this outreach event and invite your lost friends and family members to attend with you? We believe spiritual awakening can start right here in the Chattanooga area and spread all over our needy nation. Plan to join us for this bold proclamation of the Good News!

I truly believe we need the life changing message of the Gospel. More and more people are living in this world not knowing how to properly relate to one another - they have not been taught how to live and have not seen a model of what right living looks like. No wonder we hear almost daily of people carrying out unthinkable acts of terror and violence everywhere. How do we know what is right and good? God has revealed Himself to us in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. He has given us commands based upon His character – the 10 Commandments and Jesus summed it all up with the statement, “Love God with all your heart, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
