Discipleship

Discipleship is not a class,  a degree you can earn, a quick process, a seminar,

a 12 week Bible Study, reserved for super Christians, a program,  or a 40 day home group.

Discipleship is not hard, a quick fix,

or an option for blood bought born again followers of Christ.

Discipleship is not a lot of things  but it is intentionally equipping believers

with the Word of God through accountable relationships empowered by the Holy Spirit

in order to replicate faithful  followers of Christ. The result of biblical discipleship

is bearing fruit for Christ.

Worship and Discipleship

Right now discipleship at First Baptist is brought out through our evening worship sessions on Sunday and Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM. We hope to see you in church as our pastor,

Pastor Milton Knox, leads us.

Food Group Ministry

Our church has four food groups that prepare meals for families in our church who have experienced a new birth, or

the death of a family member.

When an event occurs, we call on one of the groups, and

each person in the group prepares one or two food items and brings it to the church.

The food provided is a great way to minister to families

in their time of need.

"I Don't cook!", you say?? That's ok.

Join a group, and when called upon, donate cash, and someone in the group will provide a food item for you.

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is always a way to serve!

If you are not currently on one of the food groups,

but would like to be, call the church office to volunteer.

Church Service Recordings

CDs of church services from Thanksgiving 2016 to the present are available. Please sign up for copies through the church office or sign up in the foyers. DVDs of the 2015 and 2016 Community Christmas Concerts are also available. These programs were a huge blessing so you do not want to pass up the opportunity to get a copy. The audio from each service, excluding the Christmas concerts, can also be found on our website at Worship Recordings. If you know of any shut-ins that would enjoy having copies of these services, please let us know as well.

Together for His Kingdom

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

for North American Missions

“But when they believed Philip, as he preached the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized” Acts 8:12.

The early church worked together to effectively build the kingdom of God. Today, Southern Baptists follow that lead. The keys to the success of the early church in Acts remain the same today. In Acts 8, we find Philip preaching Jesus to the lost people of Samaria–a place full of evil. And the Holy Spirit broke through the darkness. People were delivered from unclean spirits. Illness and disease bowed down to Christ. Even notorious Simon–the feared sorcerer who practiced witchcraft–turned to Jesus and was baptized. The Spirit of God swept through Samaria, and Scripture says there was “great joy in that city.” It was a victory for Christ and His kingdom. Since Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever, the same power that raised Him from the grave lives inside His people. It is in Jesus’ name, and with His power, that we send our Southern Baptist missionaries to the unreached Samarias of North America to preach, to baptize, and to make disciples together for His kingdom. Your prayers and financial support through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering are critical provisions for our missionaries.
